Accomplishments

By serving on ANC 5D, I’m a Commissioner—but I’m also more. I serve as the Chair of the ANC’s Transportation Committee, and as the ANC’s Treasurer. All three roles have allowed me to serve my community in different ways.

As a Commissioner, I know that working with the District government to address neighbors’ issues takes tenacity and persistency. Working with countless District agencies, I’ve helped tackle issues such as

  • Construction noise and disturbances
  • Illegal dumping
  • Landlord-tenant disputes
  • Parking concerns

As the Chair of ANC 5D’s Transportation Committee, I’ve worked to make getting around easier and safer for all, whether you walk, bike, take transit, or drive. Among other things, I have

  • Marshaled DDOT to install new sidewalks throughout Trinidad
  • Gathered the ANC’s support for key legislation that will make walking and biking safer throughout the District
  • Spearheaded efforts to get protected bike lanes on West Virginia Avenue
  • Worked with DDOT to completely transform Bladensburg Road
  • Led the ANC’s successful efforts to prevent WMATA from cutting D4 and D8 bus service during the pandemic
  • Partnered with my fellow Trinidad commissioners to secure traffic-calming measures for the neighborhood that will reduce aggressive driving

As ANC 5D’s Treasurer, I’ve balanced the ANC’s books for the first time in years. By doing so, the ANC has finally been equipped to provide grants that serve the community. I am proud to have supported grants that

  • Create jobs
  • Keep our community clean
  • Increase public safety
  • Beautify our public spaces
